HAM AMATEUR RADIO BROADBAND NON-HAM UNLICENSED INTERFERENCE 70CM SEATTLE
I'm listening on a local repeater on 442.875 and I noticed some interference opening the squelch periodically. It does not trip the repeater. I opened the squelch and recorded the interference. Any ideas what this might be? Seems like multiple sources including King County Transit. Scanning the band I found similar if not the same interference on other frequencies.

Freewire Broadband on Brocade IP Network
Freewire Broadband is selling and servicing internet connections using Wireless (RF/Wimax) Technology. Freewire sells these connections to small-medium-large businesses using (RF/Wimax), also known as Fixed Wireless. Similar to AM and FM radio service; Fixed Wireless Broadband sends and receives radio signals from towers to antennas to pass data. Many carriers, such as the "Baby Bells" and AT&T have used, and still use, (RF) Microwave Radios as an alternative to burying Fiber Optics to backhaul their traffic over long distances.

Grace Internet Radio Video
Grace Internet Radio Video
Top Rated is.gd Customer Reviews: "I shopped it seemed forever for a new alarm clock. Of course, regular radios have issues with reception, and CD players' spinning is too loud. Man, am I glad I did my homework. Not only is this a great alarm clock (wake up to the music I want to hear with clarity), it's a great single room stereo! It connects to hundreds of free Internet radio stations, my free Pandora stations, and my Windows media music share!! All the music I can handle! I like the multi-level dimming on the background light. I turn it off at night b/c I don't like any light, but have it come on when in use and for the alarm. I happened to have a pair of extra PC stereo speakers, so I hooked them up for an even-better sound. GREAT buy." "I original panned this radio in my first review because the radio could not receive WQXR 105.9 in New York City. I contacted Grace and they said that they could not obtain the url for the music stream from WQXR's website. After doing a little research on the net I found out how to obtain the url for any streamed music ( a very simple process ) on the Internet. After programming this url on Reciva's website, which then electronically sent it to my radio, I can now receive WQXR's webstream on my Grace radio. By the way, by using the Reciva website you can program any number of stations onto your radio. All and all an excellent product.Anthony Darienzo" Product Description Grace Internet Radio Works with any wireless internet connection ...

Replica of a quenced spark gap transmitter after Max Wien (1906)
Here we show a replica of a quenced spark gap transmitter as it was invented by Max Wien in 1906, which is coupled to a commercial short wave amateur radio station. We transmit and receive in the 80m amteur band using the callsign DL0UJ. The 1kHz tone you can hear comes from the quenced spark gap which is ignited with that rate. In a possible receiver used at that time this tone could be hear, which gave a significant improve against spark gap transmitters, which only produced broadband noise, at the beginning of the last century. Such transmitter where used until valve driven transmitters came up around the 1920's. However, these quenced spark gap transmitter, consisting of just 7 parts, were used until the 1950's as emergency radios on ships. So, the invention of Max Wien, who was more then 2 centuries professor of physics at University of Jena, was an important part in the history of wireless communication.

SM7NWJ Hamradio direct conversion phasing receiver for cw on the 20-meter band.
SM7NWJ Hamradio direct conversion phasing receiver for cw on the 20-meter band.
Video showing me tuning around the cw (morse code) portion of the 20m amateurradio band (14.0-14.1 MHz) with my homebuilt version of a phasing type direct conversion receiver. 2012-04-07: Since recording this clip the VFO is now modified to only cover 14000-14055kHz. Before making this mod the tuning was a little too sensitive. It was difficult to tune stations correctly. Now the tuning is definetly smother. It could of course be improved further with a better mechanism, but this is as far I'm taking it. Instead I would like to build a DDS (or combined DDS-PLL) VFO for the receiver. It's a test setup without a bandpassfilter on the RF input of the receiver. The antenna is an active loop covering 0-30 MHz. Despite the broadband HF input there is no indication of out-of-band signals getting through. A bit surprising and somewhat amazing. The output of the receiver is connected to a 6.5 inch diameter loudspeaker. Pictures showing the insides of the boxes can be viewed at: www.flickr.com Some of my other projects can be seen at: patrik.adhocskill.com
